A CHILL IS IN THE AIR
It’s November and the summer clothes are packed away and replaced with my favorite fleece and wooly mittens. Some may think I’m crazy, but I look forward to the winter months when I can hibernate. Sure there is shoveling to do when the snow begins to fly, but this time of year gives me more time to work on my scrapbooks, get caught up on reading while curled up in front of the fireplace and watch winter sports on the comfort of my couch.

When the seasons are in transition I also feel as though I’m changing. I usually find myself flitting around like a fall leaf not able to settle down. Once the closure of one season is behind me, I can begin to focus on the next. Planning for Thanksgiving has begun and the Christmas list is growing.

As I write this article, I am checking things off my To Do List as I look ahead to what the cold winter months have in store. Be sure to stay focused on the task at hand, so when moments and events, those planned and not planned happen, you can absorb every little detail and capture it in your memory without any distractions.

Happy Scrappin'
Julie

SEE YOU SOON POSTCARD
Supplies:
  • Diva Va Voom Creatable by Amy Flynn
  • Cardstock: white, silver, pink
  • 1 ½” pink satin ribbon by Offray
  • Faceted Jewels
  • Fibers by EK Success
  • Metal rimmed tag
Instructions:
  1. If you haven’t checked out the Diva Va Voom Creatable yet, stop reading and go check it out. I will get a lot of use out of this one in my Girlfriend scrapbook. I created this postcard and sent it to my girlfriends in anticipation of an upcoming shopping trip. When I saw this graphic I started pawing around and found all the materials needed in my supplies. I bet you already have plenty of supplies to match up with all the graphics this Creatable has to offer.
Project 1
GIRLFRIENDS 4 EVER
Supplies:
  • Slumber Party Creatable by Carolee Jones
  • Cardstock: white
  • Scarlet Retro Dot Red paper by The Paper Patch
  • Color Pencils
  • Silver Glitter Glue
  • Black Checked ribbon from Stampin’ Up
  • Cricut, Cuttin’ Up cartridge
Instructions:
  1. Sometimes the kid in me comes out and I have the urge to color. This layout was created when one of those urges arose. I printed the CNR Girlfriend graphic using the “B” button in my Hugbrowser Deluxe. Doing this enabled me to use the graphic just like a coloring book and chose colors to match my layout. Because I have the graphic spreading across my 2 page layout, I cut a small section out of the graphic where the binding of the scrapbook is. This allows for the lines of the graphic to flow better because the pages aren’t right next to each other when you open up the scrapbook.
Project 2
I AM THANKFUL FOR
Supplies:
  • Gobble til You Wobble Creatable by Kate Honarvar
  • Cardstock: white, orange, rust, brown
  • Brown square eyelets from Stampin’ Up
  • Elise font
Instructions:
  1. You can’t go wrong using any of the graphics from this Creatable to embellish your Thanksgiving layouts. Mixing the square graphics with solid color squares gives this layout a geometric feel. Finishing it off using the polka dotted border for my title creates a quick and easy finished product.
Project 3
TIS THE SEASON
Supplies:
Instructions:
  1. When I printed the snowflake background graphic from this Creatable, I fell in love with the neon green color used. I would have never thought of using this particular green for a Christmas layout … or any other layout for that matter. It seemed like a color that would be to bold or bright and it would be distractive. I was wrong and along with the cute snowmen and random snowflake stamps, it became my favorite layout.
